To sell on Allegro, you open a business account on allegro.pl, set up your returns, complaints, shipping and delivery policies, and list products with Polish-language customer support behind them. From the same account, Allegro lets Polish sellers reach its Czech, Slovak and Hungarian storefronts, translating listings and converting prices. Fees are mainly category commission, and because published figures vary between sources, check Allegro’s own price list before you set prices.

Why Allegro matters for Central Europe
Poland is Allegro’s main market, but the marketplace has grown beyond it. allegro.cz and allegro.sk launched in 2024, followed by allegro.hu on 1 October 2024, according to Polskie Radio. Polish sellers can make offers available on the Czech, Slovak and Hungarian sites from their existing account, and Allegro translates listings and converts prices.
Allegro also has a B2B side. Its developer news confirms that business.allegro.cz opened to all sellers from 18 November 2024, with support for intra-EU transactions at 0% VAT, verified through VIES.
Allegro has also narrowed its footprint elsewhere. According to Iceclog, in January 2026 Allegro announced the sale of its Slovenian (Mimovrste) and Croatian (Mall.hr) units to Mutares. For most brands, the opportunity is Poland first, then Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary.
Who can sell on Allegro?
Allegro runs separate registration paths for sellers based in the European Economic Area and for sellers based outside it. ChannelEngine’s seller guide describes both, and an Allegro moderator pointed sellers to a guide for non-EEA registration in July 2026.
We could not confirm the current conditions for non-EEA sellers, including UK companies, from an official Allegro page. If you are a UK brand, confirm current terms with the marketplace before you decide whether to apply directly or through an EU entity.
The VAT and product-safety questions are similar to other EU marketplaces. Our guide to GPSR for marketplace sellers explains the EU responsible person and labelling rules, which apply to non-food products sold online in the EU.
Setting up your seller account
According to a step-by-step guide published by Ecommerce Germany, a business account needs the details below. Allegro does not publish a fixed approval time, so allow time for verification.
- Legal company name, registration number, VAT ID and registered address.
- Bank account verification.
- Return and complaint policies, set up before you list.
- Shipping methods and delivery-time policies.
- A local registered return address in Poland, which ChannelEngine lists as an ongoing seller requirement.
- Free shipping options, also listed by ChannelEngine.
- Polish-language customer support.
- Pricing in PLN. ChannelEngine notes that payments are in PLN but you do not need a local bank account.
Treat this list as a starting point and check it against Allegro’s current seller terms when you register.
Allegro fees
Allegro’s commission varies by category and is set out in Appendix 4 of Allegro’s terms and conditions, which are published in Polish. The notes below reflect fees as published in November 2026 by the sources named.
| Fee item | What we found | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | Varies by category, set in Appendix 4 of Allegro’s terms | ChannelEngine guide |
| Commission range | 4% to 15% | ChannelEngine blog, Dec 2025 (trade) |
| Listing fees | Only in some categories, such as vehicles, live animals, antiques and art, and tickets | ChannelEngine guide |
| Monthly subscription | Sources conflict; check Allegro’s price list | Not confirmed |
| Smart! delivery costs | Partly charged to sellers; current rates not confirmed | Wiadomości Handlowe, Jan 2024 |
Fees as published in November 2026 in the sources named. Other trade sources quote different commission ranges, so use Allegro’s own price list (“cennik”) for your category.
The commission range of 4% to 15% comes from ChannelEngine’s December 2025 Allegro guide. Before you commit, model your margin with your actual category rate, your Smart! delivery share and your return costs.
Language: listings and customer service
Allegro accepts titles and descriptions in Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and English, and it offers automatic translation of offers and messages. That lowers the barrier for a first test.
Sources disagree on whether English customer service is acceptable. ChannelEngine says Polish-language support is required, so treat Polish as the safe choice. Polish product content written for Polish search terms will also usually outperform an automatic translation.
Delivery, Smart! and returns
Polish shoppers are used to fast, cheap delivery to parcel lockers and pick-up points. According to Ecommerce Germany, Poland has about 33,000 parcel lockers and 37,000 pick-up and drop-off points. Your shipping options should cover lockers as well as home delivery.
Smart! is Allegro’s delivery programme for buyers, and sellers carry part of its delivery costs. Smart! buyers get free returns, so build return costs into your pricing.
One Fulfillment by Allegro
One Fulfillment by Allegro is Allegro’s end-to-end logistics service. According to ChannelEngine, sellers using it get the Smart! badge automatically, and it requires a Polish VAT number. That makes it more suitable once you have a Polish VAT registration in place.
Returns and consumer rights
Polish consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal and two years of liability for defects. Set clear return and complaint policies before you list, because Allegro asks for them during account setup.
Integration and advertising
Allegro has a REST API documented at developer.allegro.pl, with a sandbox for testing. Confirmed connectors include Base (Baselinker), ChannelEngine (including One Fulfillment), Lengow, e-tailize and Mergado. If you already sell on several marketplaces, connecting Allegro to your existing feed tool is usually the quickest route.
Allegro runs its own advertising platform, Allegro Ads, for sponsored offers. We could not confirm current formats, minimum bids and budgets from an official Allegro page, so confirm current terms with the marketplace when you plan your launch budget. Our PPC management service covers marketplace advertising across Europe.
A sensible launch plan
Start on allegro.pl with a focused range, Polish listings and Polish customer service. Once delivery, returns and reviews are stable, extend selected offers to the Czech, Slovak and Hungarian storefronts from the same account.
Allegro often sits alongside a German launch. Compare it with Kaufland, which also has a Polish storefront, and with OTTO, which now admits Polish companies. Our guide to the best European marketplaces to sell on sets out how to choose.
Our Allegro marketplace management team handles account setup, Polish listings, customer service and advertising.
