Kaufland Account Management Expert: What They Do and How to Choose

A Kaufland account management expert runs your Kaufland Global Marketplace account day to day: EAN-based product data in each storefront’s language, prices, Kaufland Ads, cross-border storefronts, customer tickets and the service metrics Kaufland checks. This guide explains what that work involves, what Kaufland requires from sellers, and how to judge whether an expert or agency can actually do it.

At a glance

  • Storefronts: one registration covers nine: Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.
  • One product, one page: Kaufland keeps one product page per EAN, shared by every seller.
  • Service rules: replies in the national language, first ticket response within 48 hours on weekdays, late-delivery rate at or below 4%, cancellations under 1% a month.
  • Access: add your expert as a user under Users & Rights in the Seller Portal. Never share the account holder’s login.

A Kaufland account manager is a person or team who operates your Kaufland Global Marketplace seller account on your behalf, across the storefronts you sell in. New to the platform? Read how to sell on Kaufland first for registration and fees.

What does a Kaufland account management expert do day to day?

A Kaufland account management expert keeps product data valid on every storefront, sets prices that still make money after commission, runs Sponsored Product Ads, answers tickets in the right language within Kaufland’s deadlines and watches cancellations and late deliveries. On a multi-country account, much of the work is keeping several localised versions of your shop in good shape.

Area Typical daily or weekly tasks
Listings and EAN catalogue Match offers to existing EAN product pages, create new product data, fill category attributes, fix invalid items in product data reports
Prices Set prices per storefront and currency, check margin after commission, watch competing offers on shared pages
Kaufland Ads Run Sponsored Product Ads, choose automatic or manual bidding, review keywords and budgets
Cross-border storefronts Localise content for each country, decide which storefronts to activate next
Orders and service Confirm dispatch, answer tickets and returns within 48 hours on weekdays, keep cancellations and late deliveries down
Rankings Track keyword positions per storefront and connect them to data, price and ads changes

Listings and the EAN catalogue

Kaufland keeps one product page per EAN, and offering the same product under several EANs is not allowed. If a complete page already exists, you add your offer to it; if not, you create the product data. Kaufland’s Product Data Guideline sets title lengths, description rules, image sizes and alt text, and says product data must be in each country’s national language. Our Kaufland listing and ads guide covers the details.

Kaufland Ads

Sponsored Product Ads are cost-per-click ads in a second-price auction, with automatic bidding against a target ACoS of 5% to 50% or manual bids by product or keyword. They only run on storefronts where you have active offers. See our Kaufland ads management service.

Cross-border storefronts

Kaufland’s registration guide lists nine storefronts: kaufland.de, .cz, .sk, .pl, .at, .fr, .it, .es and .nl. Each one needs content, prices and service in its language, so a good expert adds countries in order rather than all at once.

What does Kaufland require from sellers?

Kaufland requires verified company documents, a suitable VAT ID, an EU authorised representative for CE-marked products made outside the EU, customer service in each storefront’s national language and service levels set out in its seller guidelines. An account manager’s job is to keep you inside those rules every day, because breaches cost money.

Registration

  • ID for the person registering, business registration and a commercial register excerpt no older than four weeks, with each file no larger than 4 MB.
  • Company and tax details, contact persons and, for CE-marked products made outside the EU, the authorised representative under the Market Surveillance Regulation.
  • Kaufland says accounts are activated within three working days when all data is complete.

Service levels

Kaufland’s seller guidelines set the following.

  • Correspondence only in the national language, and German customers addressed formally with “Sie”.
  • An initial response to every ticket within 48 hours, excluding weekends and public holidays, and the same for complaints, returns and invoice requests.
  • A late-delivery rate of no more than 4%, and a target of zero overdue orders.
  • Seller cancellations under 1% of orders a month. Between 1% and 2.99%, Kaufland charges 7% of the value of cancelled orders; above 3%, it charges 15%. Sellers with only one cancellation a month are not affected.
  • A seller-related ticket rate under 1%.

Repeated failures can lead to restricted shop access or termination, and product safety, packaging and returns law apply on top. If you are not live yet, our Kaufland onboarding and integration service covers registration and connection.

Freelancer, agency or in-house: which is right for you?

A freelancer can run one storefront with a small catalogue, an agency suits brands selling in several storefronts that need language cover, ads and backup, and an in-house team suits large catalogues with steady volume. On Kaufland, language cover is usually the deciding factor, because service rules apply in every country you activate.

Option Strengths Watch out for
Freelancer Lower cost, direct contact The 48-hour rule still applies when they are away
Agency Cover, content, ads and integration specialists Check their Kaufland experience, not just Amazon
In-house Close to your stock and product knowledge Hiring for several languages is slow and costly

How do you judge a Kaufland expert before hiring?

Ask them to explain how Kaufland’s shared EAN pages, storefront languages, service rules and second-price ads fit together, and to show how they track rank per storefront. Then ask for a written audit. A real Kaufland expert answers with Seller Portal specifics; a generalist answers in Amazon terms.

Questions to ask

  1. Which Kaufland storefronts do you manage now, and in which languages?
  2. How will you access my account? The answer should be a user invite under Users & Rights.
  3. How do you handle the 48-hour ticket rule at weekends and holidays?
  4. Which connector do you use to keep stock and prices in sync?
  5. How do you track keyword rank per storefront?
  6. What is in the weekly report, and how do you report cancellations and late deliveries?

Red flags

  • Asking for the account holder’s login. Kaufland’s Users & Rights feature gives each user their own login and only the workspaces they need.
  • Creating duplicate EANs or duplicate listings to “get more visibility”. Kaufland removes them.
  • Raw machine translation in descriptions, which the Product Data Guideline does not permit.
  • Guaranteed rankings or sales.
  • No written scope, fee or reporting day.
